My brother/sisters and sons/daughters, may the peace of the Lord Jesus Christ be with you all.

I thank our Lord Jesus for His love and care for all His children. I also thank Him for our ever-growing diocese in all dimensions whether spiritually, or in number of people and churches.

One of the new projects in our blessed diocese is to build the first church named after the great St. Mark the Evangelist, the founder of our Coptic Orthodox Church in Egypt, and the pure St. Demiana.

The Lord has granted us to place an offer on a piece of land about 10 acres in size in an excellent location at the corner of Ninth Line and Burnhamthorpe and the offer was accepted. This new church is destined to serve all our children in all the areas surrounding the church. Finding a piece of land in this area and for our offer to be approved are both considered a miracle given the scarcity of land available for sale in this area. The hand of the Lord was, still is and I am confident will continue to work to build His new churches everywhere.

I encourage all our Coptic children within the diocese and outside to take the blessing of participating in this sizeable project through their prayers, financial donations and moral support. I also encourage everyone to attend the fundraising dinner which will be held on September 29, 2019. The funds raised during this event will be dedicated to closing the land transfer transaction, which is due in five months in January 2020.

All the engineering design works and the discussions with the City are progressing well. We are thankful to our Lord for all the approvals we received to date. We also thank you all in advance for your generous support and donations. May the Lord reward all your efforts in Heaven and on Earth.
